If Eve hadn't fallen for the talking snake's "doesn't God want you to eat the fruit so he knows you can make decisions on your own" logic, then her and Adam would have never been tossed from the Gahden of Eden and the serpent would never have gained power. Thus no sin need ever be forgiven. This and other lovable bible stories teach us that Patriarchy is good!
